This Month, we were excited to be a part of the Athlete’s vs Crohn’s and Colitis 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s Brooklyn Takes Steps Walk.
Athlete’s vs Crohn’s and Colitis 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament:
We were honored to be a sponsor at this amazing event hosted by NBA star Larry Nance Jr, and Noah Weber.
Athletes vs. Crohn’s was founded in January of 2017 by Larry and Noah who were both diagnosed with Chron’s Disease. They created this organization to help connect young people with this disease to athletes that can inspire and mentor them to help them reach their full athletic potential.
The event kicked off with a “Tailgate” Cocktail party with special celebrity guests and live and silent auctions benefiting the organization. The following day, 16 teams of 4-6 high school students competed to be the AVC Champion. The event raised $100,000 to help young athletes living with IBD.
The Epicured team offered free energy bites to the players and spectators as well as offered a raffle for discounts. We look forward to sponsoring more Athlete’s vs Chron’s and Colitis events in the future.

Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s Brooklyn Takes Steps Walk:
At the beginning of the month, the Epicured team was one of the food sponsors at the Brooklyn Takes Steps Walk. We offered our Tofu Pad Thai to the walkers taking part to help make strides towards finding a cure for Crohn’s and Colitis. The Tofu Pad Thai was a big hit along with our giveaway wheel, which offered some belly-friendly giveaways. This was the second Chron’s and Colitis walk that Epicured has sponsored and we hope to sponsor more in the future.
The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation holds various Takes Steps walks throughout the country. The event helps people become part of the IBD community by connecting patients, families, healthcare providers, and organizations. Here they can provide support to each other while also actively raise money to fund research into better treatment and cures for IBD.
